Jeremy John Irons (born 1948) is an English actor who began his acting career on stage in 1969 after receiving classical training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
He won an Academy Award for his performance in Reversal of Fortune.
Irons has appeared in various films including: The Mission (with Liam Neeson), The French Lieutenant's Woman (with Beverly Garland), Damage, Dead Ringers, The Lion King (with James Earl Jones and Matthew Broderick), Die Hard: With a Vengeance (with Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson), Lolita, Dungeons and Dragons (with Robert Miano), Kingdom of Heaven (with Orlando Bloom, Alexander Siddig and Brendan Gleeson) and Appaloosa (with Viggo Mortensen).
