Leslie Nielsen (1926-2010) was a Canadian actor who enjoyed great success in films and television.
Early in his career, Nielsen played heroic leading men, such as in the seminal science fiction film Forbidden Planet. He later shifted to more sinister, antagonistic roles.
Nielsen's career path changed again in 1980 when he co-starred as Dr. Rumack in the popular comedy Airplane!. He starred in a number of successful comedies, including the Naked Gun series.
Nielsen passed away in 2010 at the age of 84. He had worked steadily until the time of his death.
