Willem J. Dafoe (born July 22, 1955 in Appleton, Wisconsin, USA) is an Academy Award-nominated American film, stage, and voice actor, and a member of the experimental theater company The Wooster Group. He has been married to Italian actress and filmmaker Giada Colagrande since 2005 and has both one child and one sibling each.
Willem has often worked with filmmakers such as Wes Anderson, Martin Scorsese, Lars Von Trier, Abel Ferrara, Paul Schrader and Sam Raimi.
Dafoe's credits include: The Last Temptation of Christ, Platoon (with Tony Todd, Forest Whitaker and Tom Berenger), Body of Evidence, Shadow of the Vampire (with John Malkovich), Spider-Man and it's two sequels (with Bruce Campbell), The Aviator (with Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett), The Walker, xXx: State of the Union (with Ice Cube and Samuel L. Jackson), Daybreakers (with Sam Neill), The Fault in Our Stars (with Laura Dern) and A Most Wanted Man.
He is referenced, due to one of the characters appearing to share his similar gaze, in Experiment 1012's Squirm. His film Platoon is mentioned briefly by Michael J. Nelson during his solo treatment of 1987's Predator.
